It’s like a slow crawl. Maddeningly drawn-out, just waiting for the inevitable to happen. He’ll notice Eames staring at him. He’ll catch himself staring at those lips, wondering what they feel like; how they taste.

Even when Eames finally touches him, it’s torturously unhurried. Hands dragging over his sides, fingers curling against his cheek. Lips against lips, body against body.

Arthur doesn’t fight it. Not until early the next morning, when he’s tying his shoes on.

“Don’t do this,” says the soft voice from the bedroom door.

Arthur looks up. He leaves, not waiting to see if Eames is following.
