“Do you have plans for the 31st?”

Arthur raises an eyebrow. “Why?”

Eames remembers the hotel room he’d booked well in advance last year, with a beautiful balcony view of the midnight fireworks. He remembers the look of rapture on Arthur’s face, the colours in the sky playing across his skin. There are few things outside the bedroom that make Arthur forget himself, and Eames loves them all; loves them for what they do to Arthur.

“No reason.” Eames places his printed confirmation for the same room on the table.

A smile plays across Arthur’s lips. “…I may be free.”
