“You have no use for a totem,” Arthur says, and it isn’t a question. His dark eyes are fixed on the poker chip Eames is walking back and forth across his knuckles, mesmerised. Eames hums noncommittally. “Yet you carry that around with you,” Arthur reaches forward. Eames’ fingers close around the plastic piece possessively. “It’s a lucky charm,” the forger explains. “Stole it off the table, after a ten-game losing streak. As a souvenir.” “Why would you keep that?” Eames simply smiles at him. “I’ve always been fond of things that don’t seem to share the sentiment, haven’t I, Arthur?”
