True to what had been announced, the fate of Kristoph Gavin was decided the following day. Klavier had distanced himself - hesitant to bring down judgment on his own brother, but adamant that Kristoph would not escape his crimes. He left Kristoph locked up in the streets, letting the citizens of Ariadoney choose their own punishment for him. He did not look at the corpse before it was dragged off to be burned. Daryan did not tell him that it was he who had delivered the final blow. Klavier did not want to know.

The Phoenix made a far better king for Ariadoney than Kristoph ever was. Klavier was only too happy to step down from the position of prince. The Phoenix kept him in the royal court along with Daryan, the two of them sharing responsibility for Ariadoney’s relations with others – just as always.

Miles Edgeworth returned to Ariadoney to take charge of the knights, working to undo the damage that Kristoph had caused. Some of this damage was irreversible – Princess Trucy could not be reunited with her true father. Other problems were easier to fix. The Gramarye elves were happy to hear that the Phoenix was the new king of Ariadoney, allying themselves with the kingdom against for the first time in a decade after finally settling the civil dispute that had divided the elves for so long. Valant became a better king once the opposition had died down.

Lamiroir returned to Kurain with Maya, beginning to uncover pieces of her memory, but still not enough to piece together.

An unannounced visit a week after the Phoenix was crowned as king found Klavier hailed as hero by representatives of the Kitaki clan, the leader of them being none other than Wocky, now completely cured of his curse. Apollo, who had stayed at the castle to train under the Phoenix, was deeply impressed by Wocky, giving him a new perspective with which to see the world:
what would Wocky do?

After several years of hardship, the return of the Phoenix finally brought peace and order to not only Ariadoney, but to those surrounding the kingdom. Things were finally the way they should be.

um... wow.

i will admit i wasn't sold on the premise at the start -- and really only started reading this fic because i had nothing better to do; but i am really glad i did read this because it's magnificent! I definetly get the feeling that, in spite of your own apprehensions, Klavier and Daryan are well-characterized even without their typical AA mannerisms (though I'm still of the opinion that they could have been incorporated)

Fantastic.

This left me smiling like an idiot at the end. Yay happy endings! ...now I have to go do my homework, but it's not like I wasn't expecting the distraction XD

Ah, that was great! Really sweet, and I really enjoyed reading it and yes I totally didn't wait until I'd finished my work shut up ¬_¬. I think this is a great handling of the AU - stylistically, the fairy-tale-esque diction of the narrative was very charming; the correspondences you chose work wonderfully (especially Klavier-as-prince, Daryan-as-knight and Maya-as-priestess, I think their roles suit them extremely well); and I really like how the relationship between Klavier and Daryan functions as a subversion of the standard fairy-tale romance - it's always the relationship between the prince and his knight, rather than his princess, that ends up with the most emotional depth, but always the princess he ends up with, and I admit I'm a sucker for fantasy stories that go against that and take a relationship of loyalty to the next level like FE9/10 what do you mean it's not canon?. I also think you've no need to worry about characterisation - it did feel weird at first to have K&D stripped of their familiar speech patterns, but like I said, I think their roles were closely enough matched to their canon characterisations to compensate for that. And your secondary characterisation is great - Maya and Edgeworth especially really rang true for me.

In short, great job, and congratulations again on finishing it! I'm trying to get myself back into the habit of writing longer work, and it's horrendously difficult :s So I admire you very much for sticking with it :)

This is just perfect. The characters are still themselves even in the fantasy setting, and yet they're matched to the fantasy types they're filling in - especially loved the Gramayres becoming elves. Also, still snickering over Oldbag being a dragon and Larry and Gumshoe as Miles' dogs XD A nice, well-rounded fantasy :D

OP of the original request for this is here. ♥ still anon o no

I loved it, omg. It's amazing how you managed to keep everyone IC. Loveitloveit.

Every time a new character came in, I almost squealed - especially for the Kitakis! Edgeworth's Wendy dragon actually made me laugh out loud for a moment.

It's left me smiling super hard at the end, too.

Again, I love it. It was an awesome story.

I enjoyed reading this. I liked the roles that you assigned to each of the characters that appeared - I don't think there was any one that I didn't find suitable! Even the animals. In fact, I was often thinking "nice(ly assigned)" as I read - and how you fitted the GS4 plots into this - it was a pleasant surprise when I first came to the meeting with the elves, then I settled into enjoying the rest. I've to say I was very relieved that the GS4-3 plot wasn't followed to the end though. XD With all those ominous Daryan is about to betray Klavier hints, I was so afraid I'll be reading through another heartbreaking story. Heh, so yea, I was quite glad it didn't end up one. XD Characterisations felt generally ok to me. Needless to say, I was happy with the Daryan/Klavier (knight and prince~ *swoons*) and the Phoenix/Miles too! (There's something I like very much about Miles being cast as a dragon tamer. And Maya was cool in here too~ I thought you wrote her well. ^^) I was a little disappointed that the end was so short though - as in, I was kinda expecting Kristoph to keep his mask on a little longer, there to be more mental/verbal/physical/whatever sparring/battle between Kristoph and Phoenix (the kind that had me on the edge of my seat while playing 4-1?), the crowd to perhaps teeter a little more between who to believe maybe?... It just felt a little... too easy after all the build up, all the preparations, all the talk about the danger and the possibility of Phoenix losing control once more. But despite that, I can say I did enjoy reading. Cool planning and nicely written!

I'm sure it would have helped if I were familiar with all the names that popped up but even so, I LOVED IT! Yay for Happy Ending and Kristoph getting exactly what he deserved. It was epic and wonderful and I'm so glad you didn't give up.

Loved this. Loved this SO MUCH <3 Prince Klavier and Daryan as his knight was already awesome (the Princexknight dynamic is one of my FAVORITE cliche's and KxD is pretty much my OTP 83) but the whole storyline with evil king Kristoph and the Gramarey elves THE PHEONIX just made it a thousand times better.
(I was secretly hoping Godot or Mia might show up, but eh. Wasn't really expecting them to. Dragon tamer Miles and Wendydragon made up for it anyway 83)

Came here from the kink meme (been reading random parts) XD;;

The character appearances fitted into the story so perfectly. :D I'm always a bit unsure of AU fics, but this was awesome and felt completely IC for the setting. Thanks for writing this!
